Production process of large machine tool castings
Casting process: The production of large machine tool castings often uses resin sand casting and lost foam casting processes. Resin sand molds have good rigidity and high initial strength during casting. They can effectively eliminate shrinkage and porosity defects by utilizing the graphitization expansion during the solidification process of cast iron, achieving less riser and no riser casting. EPC is formed by foam gasification, which is suitable for single piece or small batch production. It has the characteristics of high dimensional accuracy and small machining allowance.
Heat treatment: Large machine tool castings typically require heat treatment processes such as annealing, normalizing, quenching, and tempering to improve their performance and intrinsic quality. For example, annealing can reduce the hardness of metal materials, improve plasticity, and facilitate cutting or pressure processing; Quenching can improve the hardness and wear resistance of castings; Tempering can reduce brittleness, eliminate or reduce internal stress, and stabilize the size of the workpiece.
